4 mo and up This one of the first fruits your can give your baby.
Make and share this Bananas for Babies recipe from Food.com.
- Mash the banana.
- Add liquid, stirring until smooth.
- Do not freeze.
This has been pretty much the first fruit I've used with all four daughters and the littlest one is just now reaching that stage so super-ripe bananas are a commodity for more than just banana bread right now. :) The spotted, brownish (but not black!) bananas mash the easiest, almost to a liquid state, and taste the sweetest to little taste buds. Sometimes I mash them with a little apple juice instead of milk/formula, and they're also good with a bit more liquid and some baby cereal mixed in. Inexpensive and quick to fix, no reading the label for preservatives or stacking messy leftover jars in the fridge ~ perfect!
