  1. I used a fresh ripe banana and splenda instead of honey. It was so yummy. I used a little bit more milk. Thanks DuChick :) Made for PAC Fall 2011

  2. PERFECT! This is THE perfect smoothie. I cut it in half for just me and it is actually very smooth and creamy - I used a room temperature banana though, so maybe that's why. I would've never thought to pair raspberries and bananas, but oh my, I think it's a better combo than strawberries and bananas, if there is such a thing! :) I liked the touch of honey too. Just a little extra sweetness, but not too much and no added sugar! Thanks for sharing... ~ gulp ~ this is a keeper!

  3. It was nice to give the boys a healthy drink to go with their not-so-healthy mac and cheese for lunch :) I don't recommend using this in a smoothie blender because it was hard on the motor and I had to add more milk. Delish! Made for Potluck Tag. Thanks!

  4. I made this for Potluck Jan. Tag. I used already frozen banana that I had put into ice cube trays. Added about 6. It was very thick, so that I had to add some grape juice to get it going. It has a very nice raspberry flavor. I also added protein powder, 1 T flax meal and 1 T oat bran. It made 1 large and 1 small serving - perfect for the 5 yo and me!

  5. This is fabulous Chicky. Love adding frozen berries and bananas to the mix. Makes it good and thick. Freezing the fruit is key if you like a thick smoothie. Made this for DH as a brekky treat. Thanks a bunch. Tagged for 123HitWonders~

I am... ~a mother of 2 kids (19 and 22) who are extremely picky eaters. The mere mention of "healthy" sends them running in the opposite direction. They prefer the creamy, cheesy, fried stuff that they weren't brought up on! ~a wife of a wonderful man who fights an expanding waistline and will lovingly eat most anything I set before him. Everything is 5 stars to him. :) He's the easiest customer a cook could ask for! ~a teacher who tends to reach for comfort foods to relieve stress. I am a middle school reading specialist. The miracles I see on a daily basis keeps me going! But it's also stressful, so keep me away from the cookie jar! I really have to fight off the sugary, fat-laden stuff that has no worth beyond the momentary comfort in my mouth. ~and I'm also a daughter who was brought up on home cooked meals back when calories meant nothing and taste was everything! That is an idea built into my system that's hard to shake! My mother raised 8 kids (I'm #7) on her home-cooking and I always teased her that she didn't raise a single skinny kid! I luckily inherited her great love of cooking and baking. (I miss you Mom!) ~finally, I'm "mom" to the best Bichon in the world. He is Quincy, our kid in a dogsuit.
