I know alot of people turn up their nose, when they hear buttermilk, especially if it isn't being used in baking or something similar, I am the same. When my sister told me about this smoothie, I was not too thrilled, but it turns out to be very good, and doesn't have that bitter buttermilk flavor. And of course it's good for you, cultured dairy foods, like yogurt and buttermilk, keep your digestive tract healthy.
- 2 large ripe bananas, sliced and frozen
- 2 cups frozen peaches
- 1 cup fat-free buttermilk
- 1⁄4 cup fresh orange juice
- 1 tablespoon honey
- Process all ingredients in a blender until smooth, stopping to scrape down sides. Serve immediately.
Nice smoothie! I did add extra OJ because mine was too thick, but I think I used more peaches than the recipe called for :) I added a shake of cinnamon and WOW did that taste fabulous. . .try it for sure!!!! Healthy breakfast, indeed. THANKS!
What a delicious way to start the day. I estimated the measurements for 1, and it was even better than I had hoped! A little like ice-cream.
