This recipe was in the book that came with my bread-maker, lovely served with cream cheese and a large mug of coffee!

Directions

  1. Add all ingredients (except macadamias) to your bread-maker in the order as per your instruction manual.
  2. Select sweet bread option & crust light and large loaf setting, press start.
  3. When your machine is ready for add-ins (mine beeps) add the macadamias.

Definitely not your traditional banana bread as it is chewy like a yeast bread. The slight sweetness and the texture reminded me of Boston Brown Bread. It *is* very good with cream cheese. The only change I made was to use walnuts instead of macadamia nuts.

Delicious bread. I made it last night, and only about 1/4 of it is left. I simplified the prep by slicing the bananas straight into the breadmachine pan. I also just left the nuts whole and put them in with the flour. They were "chopped" by the end of the cycle. I bet it would be great toasted, but I am not sure there will be enough left to try that!

This made a delicious and different peanut-butter and honey sandwich for lunch. We didn't enjoy the bread as much on its own, but when we decided to make it into sandwiches we really liked it.
