So easy and delicious. I used 4 large very ripe bananas and Simple Syrup for the syrup. About 1/2 cup chopped pecans was added as the ice cream began to freeze. This was used to make ice cream sandwiches which were made with Slice and Bake Peanut Butter Cookies. Nothing like peanut butter, banana and nuts. Thanks for a great recipe that I am sure to make again.
I was skeptical when my dad requested banana ice cream, but this stuff is amazing. The texture of this ice cream is fantastic. Thank you for sharing this recipe.
I made this for the holiday weekend and served it with Strawberry Cream Cake. I, too, used the simple syrup that PaulaG did. It was fantastic! I plated the ice cream along side the cake and drizzled chocolate over the top. It was like a banana split on a plate. I will make this again for Fathers Day. Thank you for such a fun recipe. This was so yummy and refreshing! I served it with a chocolate glazed pound cake and it was the perfect compliment. Everyone loved it.
This was good, but we thought the lemon juice flavor was too strong. If I make again, I will cut down the lemon to 2 T or maybe less. Don't have to worry about the banana browning because we ate it all!
This is good, nice banana flavour that is as strong as your bananas are. I think my ice cream machine has seen better days though as I had to put it in the freezer for it to freeze and that even took a very long time (many hours). I didn't end up stirring it in the last while so it was a bit icy but I believe this would be 100% creamy if a new ice cream maker is used. I used properly ripe bananas (spotted a lot and dark around the stem but not black) and the rest of the ingredients including Simple Syrup. Made for *** RAMADAN RECIPE TAG - 2011 ***
How good can something get? This is absolutely wonderful (even made with Splenda!) and I love that it uses real fruit instead of chenical flavorings and other "additives". I'm so pleased with the ice cream maker and this was a wonderful christening for it. Creamy and great banana taste. I'm now off to find a recipe for sugar free chocolate sauce. wheeeeeeee!

This is excellent. I was looking for a way to use up ripe bananas without resorting to the usual banana bread, but I think I'll be ripening bananas on purpose now! It tastes like real bananas and is so easy. I didn't measure my lemon juice, just used the juice of half a lemon and it is perfect- not too sweet, not too tart. Thanks for posting this!
This has great banana flavor without having to add extract or liquer. I think the simple syrup really helps enhance the banana flavor which can be too subtle because it's so cold. Husband is a huge banana ice cream fan and says this is the best ever.
