Adds a simple, sweet touch to hot pancakes, cooked grains, scones or... I suspect anything else! This basic idea can be endlessly varied, of course.
- Combine the banana, dates and juice in a blender, and puree until very smooth.
- Add more juice if you want it thinner.
- Sprinkle in a bit of cinnamon if you like.
- Serve immediately.
- This gets sweeter if you store it very long in the refrigerator but it TASTES BEST fresh.
This was easy to make and very good on a cut-up banana and also on some cornbread. Reviewed for Healthy Choices ABC.
What a fantastic and super versatile syrup!! My family and company loved it. I tripled the recipe and added about a teaspoon of cinnamon. I served it over an apple crisp, which was a big hit. We can't wait to have it on some pancakes tomorrow morning. This is a definite keeper!
