Ok this recipe is a great base to create from. I used it with a gluten free flour mix added 2T cinnamon, 1/8 tsp clove, 1/4 tsp-1/2 salt, 1/4 tsp ginger and walnuts along with choc chips. My kid and hubby and visitors all raved at how great it was. Especially gluten free. I just made it again. It is five stars with the alterations.

This is a great banana bread recipe! Did a few little tweaks - I buttered the loaf pan then sprinkled it with cinnamon and sugar (a tip I picked up years ago-it adds a little somethin', somethin' to the outside crust). Sifted the flour ingredients together, then added 1/3 cup chopped walnuts and 2/3 cup of dark chocolate chips. Added 1 tsp vanilla to wet ingredients. **NOTE: I had to use 4 bananas to get 2 cups** Sprinkled a little cinnamon sugar on top before putting in oven. Was done around 55 mins. in our oven. Bread had good crumb inside and had nice crunch to outside. Tasted yummy with a good cup of coffee. Will make again for sure!

Blew me away! I baked this as a thank you to my physiotherapist and she shared it with the rest of the staff. All I had was a small corner and she had the same because the staff went bananas over it! I have to say that I, hmmm, modified the recipe a bit.
I just put in 3 med. ripe bananas and didn't measure it. Next I put 3 different type of chocolate chips in. 1/3 cup normal chocolate , 1/3 butterscotch and 1/3 white chips.
Then, while I was mixing the dry & wet together it dawned on me that I forgot the milk!! Arrggghh!!!! I checked the fridge and no milk!!!! Awww nawww!!!! So I settled for 10% cream instead and blended it all in. All this put me behind in my time so I had to rush the cooking and cranked the oven up to 375F for 35 to 40 mins instead. At 38 mins the toothpick was clear and out it came.
I got alot of glances, stares and looks when I returned. They didn't believe me that I baked it. They thought my wife had done it. Tonight I'm baking 2 loaves to bring in tomorrow.
A great, simple recipe. Nice and moist with good body.
Many thanks to Deantini ;-)

Would definitely make this again, bread was tasty, not too sweet and slightly moist inside. I did make slight adjustment however. Added 4 bananas (wanted to get rid of old bananas) and vegetable oil instead of melted butter (for ease).
To reduce calories, may consider cutting back on chocolate chip to 3/4cup add 1/2c applesauce reduce vegetable oil to 1/2c next time.

I really liked this recipe. It's really moist and with lots of banana. I had to use 6 small ripe bananas and it gave me 1 3/4 cup. I used vegetable oil instead of butter. When I'll do it again, I'll omit the sugar since that's sweet enough with the chocolate chips. Thanks Deantini :) Made for Newest Zaar tag
