These were quite good. I used Splenda instead of granulated sugar, and 1 cup of wheat flour and 1 cup of regular flour instead of 2 cups of the regular flour. If you like bananas and chocolate, this is a good one.
Fantastic recipe! The banana gives the bars a nice, creamy texture and sweetness and everything came together very quickly in my Kitchenaid mixer. I did modify the recipe slightly in order to make it a little healthier. I used 1 cup of whole wheat pastry flour and 1 cup of all-purpose flour. I cut the butter in half and substituted it with a small plastic container of applesauce. I also cut down the chocolate/butterscotch chips to about 3 oz. each and added 2 tbs of chia seeds. Thank you so much for posting, I will definitely make this again!
FANTASTIC!! It's only been out of the oven about an hour and half of it has gone already!! I have never seen butterscotch or peanut butter chips here in New ealand, so I just used some extra chocolate chips and the bars are divine! Will definitiely be making these again soon :)
Had 3 bananas to use up ASAP. This is the recipe I went for since I'm getting tired of banana bread. It was very good. I'll make this again if I have bananas to use up.
These were so very yummy!!! I would go to these over chocolate chip cookies! They are so similar, only creamier because of the banana! I only had chocolate chips, so didn't get to try with butterscotch or PB, but sure they'd be great. I baked in a 9x13 pan for 20 minutes because I wanted a thinner bar, and they came out so good! I wanted to eat them all myself while they were still warm from the oven! Thanks for sharing this great recipe! Made for PAC Spring '09.
I made this into muffins, baked for about 18 minutes. This is going into my keeper file, since my banana-hating child ate three of them and wanted more. I may add some whole wheat flour next time to make it a bit healthier, but is great just the way it's written. Made this for Spring PAC 09. Thank you for sharing!
