Banana Chip Bars

ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 1⁄2 cup quick-cooking oats
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1⁄2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1⁄2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄4 cup margarine, melted
- 1 egg
- 1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup mashed ripe banana
- 1⁄2 cup Splenda sugar substitute
- 1⁄3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
directions
- Mix flour, oats, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and salt; set aside.
- Beat margarine until smooth. Add egg and vanilla and beat well. Beat in banana and Splenda for one minute. Add flour mixture, beat until well blended, Stir in chips.
- Spread evenly in greased 8-inch square baking pan.
- Bake at 350F for 25-30 minutes or until tester comes out clean. Cool. Cut into bars.
- OPTIONAL: Sprinkle with additional rolled oats, before baking.

Made this today, what a great and simple recipe! Had all the ingredients on hand, too. The oatmeal is a great addition and I also sprinkled some on top. The only changes I made were to line my baking dish with parchment, and I did use sugar instead of Splenda, since I had that on hand. Will definitely make this again!

<br>I guess the dish that I am famous for is my Christmas ham - my family all comes home for Christmas, and if i don't have my ham they are dissapointed, and my grandson wants the pistachio squares!!! so I guess that is the dishes that I'm famous for.
