Banana Chai Smoothie

"I had two bananas left over from a recipe that my daughter had tagged and they were becoming too ripe to eat as a banana, so I decided to make a new smoothie. NOTE: Cooking time is blending time."

  1. Loved this! I did make it low fat by using ice cubes in place of the ice cream and didn`t miss it. I know sacrilege! But really you won`t miss it.

  2. I used Greek style vanilla yogurt instead of ice cream & gailanng's recipe#469218 for the chai concentrate. We had it as a quick breakfast & everyone loved it! Made for VIP of the Veggie Swap 2/12! Thank you, Acadia! :)

  3. Good and in agreement with another reviewer that it kind of tastes like eggnog. I passed 2 extra, frozen bananas for the ice cream like mliss29 and to make this dairy free i used homemade almond milk. I used halal vanilla paste to be alcohol free & spices which make up chai. Made for Veggie Swap 37 ~ August 2011 ~

  4. I used vanilla yogurt which I froze and my own homemade Chai mix. This would be fantastic made with real vanilla ice cream I'm sure. Non-dairy ice cream will work well, too. A delicious way to start the day. Thanks for posting! Reviewed for Veg Tag/April.

  5. My 5yo son said, "this is fantastic," and later, "Mom, could you make this again?" I made it with one big frozen banana instead of the ice cream, (for a total of 3 bananas) but otherwise followed directions. (Frozen bananas pretty much pass for ice cream around here.) I used Oregon Chai's decaf version. This is *really* good and tastes a little like eggnog. Thanks! Reviewed for the Veg*n Swap.
