I made this last night for our family to get rid of some over ripe bananas and it is delicious. Very simple to make - I put it in two smaller bread pans and they looked great!

  1. Cream sugar and shortening together.
  2. Add eggs and blend well.
  3. Add soda to mashed bananas.
  4. Stir flour into mixture alternately with the banana mixture.
  5. Add salt and buttermilk.
  6. Bake in greased and floured pans - 350 degree oven for about 40 minutes or until done when tested with a toothpick.
