I have made this recipe several times using manchego. I love it and everyone I have made it for has really enjoyed it. It is a sophisticated and delicious dessert.
This is very good (made with goat cheese) and I can't wait to introduce other people to it. The mingling of the honey and vinegar is a happy blend and the addition of the pepper (which I used sparingly) adds a livening and unexpected accent. I think it would be helpful to have the pepper-to-taste actually appear in the ingredients list, as I was rushing through the directions a bit and almost left it out, until I caught sight of the word pepper in the name of the recipe.
This is a yummy recipe. I made it for our wine club Cabernet tasting, and it was a big hit. I sliced the pears after roasting, and sprinkled the other ingredients on top.
I had this for brunch this morning and just loved it! I used half balsamic and half raspberry balsamic. Mmm..mmmm! I used goat cheese. Thank you Evelyn!
