A lovely side dish/condiment- sweet, yummy caramelised onions. 20ml is 1 tablespoon. Source: Delicious magazine - May 2003
- Heat oil over low heat, add onions and cook very slowly, stirring occasionally, for 30 minutes.
- Add sugar and allow to caramelise slightly.
- Add vinegar and cook for a further 10 minutes or until thick.
These were good, but not necessarily as a side to be served as is. This would be great with mushrooms cooked in as well, served on a meat dish. It definitely tastes better than it smells.
