Balsamic Herbed Marinade for Goat Cheese

This is a great appetizer on crisp French bread, tossed on a salad or topped on cooked steak or hamburger!

  1. Mix vinegar, lemon juice, orange juice, lemon peel, garlic, basil, rosemary, and oregano in medium bowl.
  2. Gradually whisk in oil.
  3. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  4. Pour mixture into glass baking dish or a pickling jar.
  5. Add goat cheese; turn to coat.
  6. Refrigerate at least 2 hours or up to 2 days, turning occasionally.
  7. Transfer goat cheese to platter.
  8. Spoon marinade over.
  9. Top with sun dried tomatoes and or black olives.

I love this. The fresh ingredients are the key, I think. I top a small salad with the goat cheese and use the marinade as dressing; I also add the sundried tomatoes to the marinade. The calories are a bit high, so this is considered a special treat in my house - delicious. Thank you for posting.

Made this for a book club meeting and everyone loved it and asked for the recipe! OK, I made it again for a ladies' get together and it was loved once again! I really recommend it. :)

this is wonderful. i used the tiny fresh mozzarella balls instead of goat cheese and it was great. i know it will be even better next time when i use goat cheese. incredible flavors. the citrus really adds. this is a great make-ahead dish for a dinner party. thanks for sharing a real winner.
