This recipe is from "Green Hills Garden Club Cooks...Favorite Recipes from Vicksburg,MS" (Marion Baldwin). Excellent dressing recipe!
- 4 cups mayonnaise
- 1⁄2 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons salad oil
- 1 teaspoon onion salt
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1⁄4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- Place all ingredients in blender and blend thoroughly.
- Add more water for thinner consistency.
This is a new family favorite for us. I leave out the water and the cayenne pepper and we have been using it on everything. As a dip for eggrolls and chicken nuggets, as a sandwich spread (great on deli roast beef). I served it on the table at Christmas as a condiment for a roast pork loin. I make 1/4 recipe and keep it in a pint jar in the frig. My kids are always asking for it. Thanks for this easy and so versitile recipe. (oh yes, and it's good on salad too! LOL).
An excellent, smoothly flavored dressing that also makes a great dip for crudites.
Iam always looking for good dressing recipes and this is very good.I replaced water with white wine vinegar and omited the oil and salt. This is also a nice looking dressing.Thank you.
