Delicious baked sweet potato french fries---I got this recipe from Food Network's website.
- 2 sweet potatoes, peeled and sliced like steak fries
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- salt and pepper
- feel free to add whatever seasoning you like. garlic powder, taco seasoning, etc
- Preheat oven to 425. In a large mixing bowl, drizzle oil over the potatoes. Add seasoning mix and toss to coat. Place fries in one even layer cookie sheet. Bake 10 minutes, turn and bake 10 more minutes. Fries should be soft on the inside and browned on the outside.
I make these quite often...they're a good way to eat a sweet potato (which is very good for you). I used cayenne pepper, garlic powder and salt. Delicious!
If your family hasn't tried these fries, they are really missing out. Use the suggested spices or those of your choice. I like garlic and Italian seasonings. Thanks for posting.
This is the perfect recipe for a beginner 'yammer'. I used Paula Deen's 'house' seasoning: garlic powder, pepper and salt with a bit of onion powder. They were so delicious - there wasn't enough! I only bought 2 sweet potatoes because I wasn't sure we'd like them. I will be going back to the store directly to make more! Thank you for the simple, healthy recipe! (Actually looking forward to trying the taco seasoning.)
