      What an interesting combination of flavors. I substituted hazelnuts for the almonds and thought they compliment the avocado and cheeses nicely.

      These were impressive! What a great combination of flavors and textures and pretty too. I did add 2 Tbsp. of finely chopped red bell pepper for color and the 3 garlic cloves other raters suggested. I also used a mixture of roasted and salted cashews, brazil nuts and almonds for the nuts. Great trecipe mariposa13. I'll be making these many times and have already shared your recipe.

      Wonderful flavors. I used a sweet white wine in place of the sherry. Yummmm!

      I made this as a trial run for the holidays, this will be a recipe I will definately make again, the only change I made was I sauteed about 2 tablespoons (I don't even measure lol!) fresh garlic in with the onion, great recipe hon!...Kitten:)

      Avocado lovers' heaven: a truly wonderful blend of flavours. I added three cloves of minced garlic to the minced onion; sorry mariposa13 but as a garlic lover, I just couldn't resist. The instructions didn't specify chopping or mincing for the onion, so I opted for mincing. I used almonds and - though I never drink sherry - it was certainly fabulous in this dish. A great entree dish or a light meal dish. Thanks, mariposa13: I'll make this again.

      Excellent! I loved the flavor of the gruyere cheese with the avocado. It's a rich combination of flavors but not overwhelming. Holds together well and looks great. I made a half recipe with gruyere and almonds - diced the onions (not in directions), and used red cooking wine in place of the Sherry. Thanks & I hope you enjoy the photo's.
