Baked Ranch Chops With Sour Cream Ranch Sauce

I created this on a whim, and it came out alright. This is just a collaboration of things try it out. We had this with oven roasted corn on the cob and a wonderful fresh salad.

I am just getting interested in cooking for the first time in my life. My wife and I have been married for seven years and we have two children under six. She has to spend most of her day with them, and doesn't have a lot of time to prepare a meal for us without hearing the words, "Mommy, mommy, mommy, mommy...", at least a hundred times. You get the picture. I prepared a hot bubble bath for her and lit a few candles, with a brand new copy of "Woman's Day", to keep her busy for at least an hour. Then I laid the kids' down for a short nap and headed to the kitchen as excited as child on Christmas morning. I didn't have the mushrooms for this meal, but everything else was there. She is a great wife and mom, with a very stocked and organized pantry. I didn't have to search for a thing. The chops came out crunchy and juicy at the same time. Perfect on the top and bottom. I put the oven on broil for the last minute or so, just to make the top crunchy (learned that from baking pizza). The side dishes I used were broccoli and cheese rice, and whole sweet carrots with a dash of brown sugar. Also I made some slaw from one of my mothers recipes to go with it. She loved the meal and the man. ;)
I thank you for the recipe, but I thank God for my wonderful wife. She deserves this every night!

  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. meanwhile crush crackers, i used a mortar and pestle, add ramano and parmesan. I'm talkin the stuff you sprinkle on your spaghetti. (kraft) place these on a plate.
  3. place one cup of ranch on a plate, I used buttermilk ranch for this recipe.
  4. dip raw chop into ranch on both sides then
  5. coat with cheese and cracker mixture.
  6. place in foil lined & sprayed 13x9 pan.
  7. put in oven cook 30 minutes or until golden.
  8. Meanwhile to create the sauce chop all veggies and saute in med-high butter until tender.
  9. in a bowl mix sour cream and other cup of ranch with a fork
  10. add cornstarch, worcestershire and chicken broth, stir well.
  11. pour over tender veggies and stir constantly until it boils and thickens.
  12. serve over hot ranch chops.
  13. this was rich but tasty, enjoy!
