I used Fresh Basil Pesto With Variations for this recipe and it was really scrumptious. I seasoned the breasts with salt and pepper, threw it in a ziplock bag and tossed with the pesto (less cleanup). I put it on a baking sheet, topped with tomatoes and cheese, cooked some pasta and tossed it with the remaining pesto and voila!, dinner is on the table in no time, with minimum effort. I would highly recommend this recipe to anyone, including beginner cooks who are looking to impress their loved ones. Thank you.

I left it in the oven long enough for the cheese to brown. mmmmmm. I also baked the chicken on a rack, to avoid an accumulation of olive oil. Very good!

I was wondering as I made this how something so simple could be as good as the reviews but it was true! I used homemade pesto and then a shredded cheese blend for topping. It took 25 minutes to cook and it was still moist and flavorable. I served this with steamed green beans and it was a huge hit!

Unbelievable. I used my own pesto, so it was fresh. Within 5 minutes of popping it in the oven the smell was amazing. I followed the directions exactly, and I can tell you this dish was fabulous. We felt that we were eating at a 5-star restaurant. Thanks for sharing!

We really enjoyed this! I didn't bake the chicken though...it's just too hot to turn on the oven. I grilled two chicken breasts and then brought them in and put 1 Tbsp of my homemade pesto on each breast. I topped each of those with thinly sliced tomatoes and topped with mozzarella cheese. I then put them under the broiler to melt the cheese. Easy dinner and easy clean up! Served with steamed broccoli and couscous. Thanks for posting...this is a keeper for us!

This is so easy to prepare and fills the house with an absolutely delicious aroma every time. This is the fourth time in the past month I'm making this dinner since my basil plants are getting out of control and we'd all grown tired of pasta with pesto. Using homegrown tomatoes doesn't hurt, either! One thing: I don't bother tossing the chicken with the pesto. I just put it in the pan and slather the stuff on top. Delish, Tish, thanks for the dish!

Very good. I baked the chicken first (from frozen). Then topped with pesto, tomatoes and cheese and put it back in the oven to melt. Yum!
