I had such great expectations for this recipe that I wish I could say that I loved it. It was OK, but not exceptional. I tried to stick with only 1 tsp of butter when sauting the onions, but the onions didn't brown up. I ended up adding more butter and it took at least 15 minutes before they turned golden brown. I did like the tip on using Triscuit Thin Crisps, however. I never tried them before and found them so much lighter than the original Triscuits.
This is so easy and good. Could even be used as a side dish
I have enjoyed this dip since I was a little girl, my Mom always used to make it for parties & always at Christmas time! Let's just say thats been since the early 70's...the only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because it is so unhealthy - but that's what makes it so good!!
