- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cups cooked elbow macaroni
- 2 cups cheddar cheese, grated
- 12 ounces evaporated milk
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 dash red pepper
- 1⁄2 teaspoon paprika
directions
- Preheat oven to 350. In small skillet, heat butter until hot and bubbly. Add onion and saute until translucent. In bottom of 2 quart casserole, spread half noodles. Top with half of the cheese, then half of onions. Repeat layers. In small bowl combine milk, egg, salt and pepper, mixing well. Pour over macaroni mixture and sprinkle with paprika. Bake until set, about 35 minutes. Do not overcook.
