I cut this in half but used 2 cups of sharp cheddar, mixing one cup into the cheese sauce before combining it with the macaroni. It looked like this was going to be awesome because it was so creamy. After baking, it became dry. I also thought it was rather bland. I may try it again with more sharp cheddar.

I made this recipe on 7/1/09 as part of our dinner. Since there was just three of us eating, the recipe was cut in half. I think even a novice cook could make this recipe, since it was written in easy to follow step by step directions. This is what a good " Mac n' Cheese " recipe should taste like. Thanks for posting and, " Keep Smiling :) "

My family loved this. I only used 16oz of noodles and 3 cups of milk. I also changed the cheese some as well. I used 24 oz of cheese 8 oz of Queso Velveeta Cheese 16oz of regular and 2 cups of sharp cheddar cheese. I also think the real butter helped with the flavor. I will make this often. Easy and inexpensive.

I made this for Easter. I followed the recipe but I added more Velveeta. I would definatly make this again, but I would add even more Velveeta and less pasta then the 24 oz it calls for.

I made this tonight. I made half a recipe and followed the recipe (or so I thought) instructions. As you mention in the ingredients list, I added more Velveeta than the recipe suggests. This was very creamy but it wasn't "cheesey" enough for me. I added about a cup of shredded cheese to the top before I baked it without any ill effects. I sort of wish that I had mixed some in and then added more to the top. Thank you for posting this recipe.

Had my 15th month old grandson over for supper tonight....he loved this mac and cheese. Only change I made was to put some buttered bread crumbs on the top. Served with baby peas and he just loved it. Thanks for a kid friendly recipe......even hubby liked it and he is pretty fussy. Looking forward to some leftovers for work tomorrow.....I only used a one lb. box of macaroni and that was plenty for the cheese sauce.

I'm not a big fan of velveeta, but boy does it make a difference in homemade mac & cheese. This was easy and very very good. Thanks!
