- Heat oven to 325 degrees.
- Place leg of lamb on rack in a shallow baking dish.
- Bake 1 hour and 45 minutes.
- Drain off excess fat.
- Combine cloves, honey, lemon juice and salt and pour over lamb.
- Return to oven and bake an additional 20 minutes more.
Easy to make roast lamb. The smell was divine when the clove and honey mixture was added. I felt like the flavours didnt permeate the meat very well, so will pour it over earlier next time I may it, thanks for posting.
Well everyone ate what was on their plate. This was totally different with the honey and cloves. On the cooking time I had a leg of lamb that was just over 1.8K and according o the thermoter it was well done in 1 hour 45 minut4es. I poured the the lemon juice mix and popped back in the oven for a further 20 minutes, even though the thermometer was reading well done 20 minutes and then transferred the cooked lamb to a plate and let rest. When carved it was not as welldone as expected which I really enjoyed (the the DH disagreed - this is a no baa man/guy). With the remaining pan juices (after draining fat) I made a gravy (fried of some flour and added som water to thicken - helped to take up the juices, at this point tasted so sweet and the DH suggested some rosemary sprigs (we have heaps growing in the garden) and simmered in the gravy worked a treat (for about 10 minutes) and then strained the lot (initiallly I had removed the cloves but would leave and then strain) and just strain and you have a sweet but very tasty gravy.
