I followed this recipe with 2 exceptions: I didn't add salt, since ham is already salty, and I added a tsp of cinnamon. Perfection! My 20 guests were sopping up the excess glaze with their bread! Thank you Rita!
This is the most wonderful recipe EVER!! This glaze would taste great on a shoe..lol i did double the recipe and used a total of 2 chipotle's didn't double the spices and it was perfection.. the DH could not stop picking little pieces off the ham every time he walked by.
I think this glaze would be great on chicken, pork.. but i think im going to try it on some baby back ribs.. just the right spice and sticky"ness" will be making this often!
Yipee! Just what I was looking for! THE PICKY ONE chose this, lol. I prep my ham a little differently - I parboil it for about 30 minutes which removes some of the saltiness AND leaves me with a ham broth for soup! Then I carve it up & put the pieces in a 9x11 pan, pour the glaze over & bake for 'awhile.' This is an excellent glaze - VERY easy & that sweet hot flavor that I adore! I used a 20oz can pineapple, 2 small chiptles & 1 large. It was just right. THANK YOU, Rita & God Bless. xoxo Bethie
What an incredibly delicious ham! This is the best ham I have made so far. I only used one pepper since we don't care for things that are too spicy, and that was just right for us. I had a small ham (only half the recommended size) but kept the glaze the same amount so we would have extra delicious glaze.
Oh my goodness!!!!f This is amazing. I made this for Thanksgiving and my family couldn't stop eating it. The spicy sweet glaze is so good. DD already asked for the recipe for her home. thank you for sharing with us, its wonderful.
I've now made this a half a dozen times. I love it. The kids love it. The family loves it. I made this for our Easter dinner at work one year. People asked for the recipe and now it has shown up at various potlucks throughout the years. It is that good.

My family likes spicy so I add extra chipotles and adobo, awesome. Work people are wusses and they do not find the original recipe overly spicy at all.
This was the prettiest, tastiest ham I have ever made!! My family loved it! Looking forward to using the yummy leftovers in a ham and potato casserole recipe! Thanks for sharing!!
Whoo, baby - this stuff is really incredible! Best Easter ham EVER!! The glaze would be great on ribs, chicken, whatever. We served it with herbed sweet potatoes and asparagus, with key lime pie for dessert. Fabulous!!! We didn't have any adobo sauce left in the can, so substituted some bottled chipotle sauce. It gave it a nice kick. Left the seeds in the chipotles, too. This will one recipe I make over & over again!
Wow, oh wow this is a true 5 star recipe. I've had it saved for some time and finally got around to trying it. I did not buy a smoked ham so the ham I did buy was not full cooked. I cooked it one hour @ 325, then I poured the glaze over it and cooked on 300 for about two more hours. I had poured off the juice of the pineapple but next time I will save to add to the sauce as it cooks. The sauce got too thick and started to stick to the pan, so I added a very small amount of water a few times as I basted. Also I cut the chipotle peppers back to one and it was just the right heat. The ham was so delicous, I will keep this around for a long time.
Sooooooooooooo GOOD!!!! We will be making this again and again!
