Baked Chicken With Pasta Sauce

"This ia a simple chicken dish with lots of flavor, use your own favorite pasta sauce for this, Prego Traditional Pasta sauce works well with this --- for each extra pound chicken increase the sauce by 1 to 1-1/2 cups, remember to drain the fat completely before adding the sauce :)"

Questions & Replies

  1. Hi, I have a question: I've been looking at other chicken videos and recipes where it only takes 20 minutes to bake a couple of foil-wrapped chicken breasts in the oven, at 400 degrees. Why does it take so long in this case? Is it the slight temperature difference, or because they're not covered, or something else? Thanks.

  1. I sprinkled a little Lawry's Seasoned Salt and Mrs. Dash Spicy Italian on the chicken breasts in addition to the salt, pepper. and garlic powder. I love Classico Tomato and Basil sauce. Since my chicken breasts were frozen, I parboiled them which drastically cut down on cooking times. Very tasty, very simple, and very easy!

  2. For chicken breast tenderloins, 30 minutes for each phase is too long. I did 20 per phase and the chicken was still dry. For the smaller chicken breast tenderloin pieces, maybe 15 min? Also the chicken was plain-no flavor. The pasta sauce was a separate flavor outside of the chicken. I think the chicken needs a little spice of some kind in addition to the salt and pepper. (I don't use garlic because of dogs.) I am a beginner and this was quite complicated cooking for me. I'll try it again another day and see what happens.

  3. Worked in a pinch! I was looking for a quick dinner with only a few ingredients, this is it! Had it in the oven before the boyfriend could say he was hungry, plus he said it was a wonderful dish!-L from NC.

  4. This gets 5 stars from me because it's easy, fairly quick and tastes great. My husband is a very picky eater and he loves when I make this!

  5. Would've been 5 with some chunky vegetable homemade sauce. The chicken was excellent. Thanks for sharing.
