Although this uses 2 soups I very seldom buy & never have in my pantry, I did make this recipe as given, & must say the rice IS delicious! I also served it with a 2 cups of slightly cooked peas over the top, so that those who wanted to brush them aside could, while those of us who like a peas-&-rice combo could scoop 'em up! Loved your recipe & will keep it around to make again! Thanks for sharing it! [Made & reviewed for one of my adoptees in this fall's round of Pick A Chef]

Ingredients Nutrition

  • 1 (8 ounce) can beef consomme soup
  • 1 (8 ounce) can French onion soup
  • 0.75 (8 ounce) can water
  • 1 12 cups rice
  • 12 cup butter
  • salt and pepper

Directions

  1. Bring soups and water to a boil.
  2. Pour rice into 9x13 dish.
  3. Slice butter and place over the top of the rice.
  4. Pour soups over rice. Cover with foil.
  5. Bake 45 minutes at 350.
