Baked Brie With Brown Sugar

UPDATE: After the first review I edited the recipe using less butter. I am one of those cooks who never measures things, so I estimated, and obviously, it was too much butter. The idea is just to brush softened butter over the surface of the brie. I hope this is better! Thanks! This is great party food. A friend gave me this recipe after we all fell in love with it at her party. Enjoy!

Ingredients Nutrition

  1. Preheat oven to 325.
  2. Put brie in baking dish.
  3. Brush on approximately 3 T. of softened butter.
  4. Sprinkle about 1/4 cup of brown sugar over the brie.
  5. Add a few (about 1/4 cup) of walnuts or chopped pecans, really just whatever you have on hand.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
  7. Serve with sliced french bread.

Almost ridiculously easy. But no one would ever know. ;-) The flavor was excellent and the butter helped soften the marked-down cheese that I knew was a bit too old for best results..

This recipe was just okay for me ...too greasy even with the little butter I used and the cheese got too hard too quickly, which made it difficult to spread.

I made this for a girls scrapbooking weekend and served it with an herb & cheese French bread. I also used Pecans instead of Walnuts (just a personal favorite). It was delicious, easy to make - virtually no preparation, and everyone loved it. I refrigerated what wasn't eaten, reheated it the next day for "round 2", and it was just as good. Thanks, Toi!!!
