This is the same as Paula Deen's except she calls for "1/2 pound bacon strips cut into 1/2-inch pieces". I just thought I would mention that here rather than post a near-duplicate recipe.

I Followed Paulas original recipe for this and used 1/2lb diced bacon, 1/4 cup ketchup, and no worchestire sauce. Next time I'll saute the onion before adding it. Thanks for posting!

Loved the strong flavor, but had to reduce sweetness radically. 1 TBS each, maple syrup and brown sugar was sweet enough for us.

5 Star all the way!!! I did not change anything. Baked Beans with Ribs and Potato Salad for the 4th of July. My family loved every bite of the Baked Beans. I will be making these over and over. Thank You for a wonderful recipe. Hugs

I have to disagree with many of these reviews. This recipe was way, way, way too sweet. I should have realized - 1/4 cup brown sugar and 1/4 maple syrup. Too much for us. lees.

Bringing this casserole to the table had the aroma and taste of home baked beans ... pork and beans with a flair! Other than not finding van camps and subbing with one of our favorites, made as posted and have added it to my favorites cookbook. Love the variety it adds to my Baked Bean casserole recipes - I am so a fan of maple syrup in my pork and beans! Thank you Marsha D. for posting this delicious baked bean recipe that is quick, easy and good!

My husband loves beans,he calls them the staff of life..He was very impressed with these easy baked beans. He couldnt believe they were pork n beans doctored up.I made no changes..These are a definite keeper,already laminated in my cookbook..I know I will be making these alot. Thank You for this recipe..

I tried these to go with Super Daves Awesome Burgers and Kittencal's Best Crispy Onion Rings. This how I made the recipe.First I cooked the bacon(I like lots of bacon),drained a little of the "drippings"and cooked my onion until slightly soft,drained both cans of beans.Added the cooked and crumbled bacon and then proceded with the rest of recipe as written.Baked them for only thirty minutes,and the beans had a lot of liquid still in them.They were o.k.,but not sure if I will make them again.But,thanks for posting anyway."Keep Smiling:)"
