I know sounds awful, TRY IT! Next time you have baked beans, save a cup and try this.
- 1 cup baked beans
- 1⁄4 cup walnuts (chopped)
- 1⁄4 cup celery (chopped)
- 2 tablespoons fresh sweet onions, minced (may use green onion if desired)
- 1⁄8 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sweet pickles (chopped) or 1 tablespoon sweet relish
- 2 tablespoons catsup
- 4 -8 slices whole wheat bread
- butter (for bread)
- Using all but the buttered bread, combine the ingredients well.
- Spread on the buttered bread.
