Aunt Audrey Dewey's Recipe
- 3⁄4 lb bacon, Dices
- 3 medium onions, Chopped
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1⁄2 teaspoon dry mustard
- 3⁄4 cup brown sugar
- 1⁄2 cup ketchup
- 1⁄2 cup cider vinegar
- 1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans
- 1 (15 ounce) can butter beans
- 2 (21 ounce) cans pork and beans
- Saute bacon and onions.
- combine all ingredients.
- Bake at 350 for 60-70 minutes.
- Note: Also works great in the crockpot.
We really enjoyed these baked beans with our fish tonight. The flavor combo was excellent. I cut the recipe in half for the 2 of us and some left overs for DH using 1 15 oz can of pork and beans and 1 15 oz can of kidney beans. Left out the butter beans as they are not one of our favorites. I cut the onion to one half of a large onion and only used 3 slices of bacon and that was good for us with this recipe. Loved the garlic. This was just excellent. Thanks so much for sharing. Made for PAC Spring 2010 :)
