My mother has made this recipe for years and I still ask her to make whenever I come home. The simplest recipe but really is the best dish to serve. Similar to apple pie but without the crust.

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. peel apples and slice into thin pieces into a deep baking dish. Fill 2/3 full and cover with 2/3 cups sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon.
  3. Fill the rest of the dish with apple pieces. Top apples with flour, 2/3 cup sugar. Then put slabs of butter on top.
  4. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
