My mother has made this recipe for years and I still ask her to make whenever I come home. The simplest recipe but really is the best dish to serve. Similar to apple pie but without the crust.
- Heat oven to 350 degrees.
- peel apples and slice into thin pieces into a deep baking dish. Fill 2/3 full and cover with 2/3 cups sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon.
- Fill the rest of the dish with apple pieces. Top apples with flour, 2/3 cup sugar. Then put slabs of butter on top.
- Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
