  • Slice bread on an angle.
  • Place olive oil in small shallow bowl (like a cereal bowl).
  • Dip each side of bread slices in olive oil.
  • Broil until slightly browned, flip and broil other side too.
  • Watch carefully, it can go from not quite done to burned in an instant!

  1. Thanks for sharing these tasty toasts, puppitypup! I had a garlic parmesan baguette, so that is what I used; I baked at 425 for approximately 8 minutes, then flipped for about 5 more minutes. They were crispy and perfect! I'll be making these again and again!

Okay I'm going to confess - the first time I cut the slices too thin and they burnt to a crisp and set off the smoke detectors! lol so then I sent my laughing DH up to the store to purchase another baguette and after the smoked cleared tried these again cutting the slices a bit thicker and really watching them carefully! Perfect! We served these with Creamy Chicken & Wild Rice Soup. Tagged in Potluck Tag.

  4. A simple crisp toast for any kind of dip or spread. Used mine for a cheese and pate plate served with grapes and walnuts. Simple and delicious.
