Bacon With Citrus Glaze

"This is a Martha Stewart recipe. I haven't made it yet, but it looks like it would be so good as part of a breakfast with eggs and toast."

  • Preheat oven to 400°F Lay bacon on a baking sheet. Juice oranges into a small saucepan, and add cane syrup. Cook over medium heat until glaze is thick enough to coat the back of a spoon, about 8 minutes.
  • Brush some glaze over the bacon, and bake for 10 minutes. Brush with more glaze. Contine to bake until golden, about 15 minutes more (or 10 minutes more if using regular bacon).
  • Brush bacon with remaining glaze, and transfer to a parchment or paper towel-lined plate to drain before serving.

  1. Although I'm not usually one to include bacon for breakfast, this recipe intrigued me enough to make it! Loved the orange glaze here & will definitely be making this again & again! Am also wanting to try it in a bacon cheese burger! Thanks for sharing the recipe! [Made & reviewed for one of my groupmates in the Aus/NZ Recipe Swap #43]

Our family moved to Florida from New York in the 90's, so I've brought not only many of the recipes my family has passed down, but have learned to cook some great Southern dishes as well.? When I found RZ, it opened up a whole new world of cooking -- cuisine from different countries, tried-and-true family hand-me-down recipes, and some interesting and delicious dishes I would never have found on my own.
