Easy dip for chips or as a spread for crackers.
- 28.34 g package ranch dressing mix
- 453.59 g sour cream
- 118.29 ml bacon bits (i prefer the hormel brand)
- 236.59 ml cheddar cheese (shredded)
- Mix all ingredients and enjoy.
- Note as usual with dips this is better made ahead so the flavors can marry.
This dip is fantastic! I made this to take to a potluck but couldn't help myself from trying it after a few hours in the fridge. The salt from the bacon bits paired with the creaminess of the sour cream and cheddar is a perfect combination. You MUST use Hormel bacon bits with this for an authentic bacon flavor. Thanks for sharing this awesome dip recipe, MsSally! It went directly into my "Tried and True" cookbook and is one I will make over and over again! Edit: Whenever there is a potluck party amongst our friends, they always ask, "Are you bringing that Bacon Dip?" It's definitely a favorite!
simple and delicious, I added in some fresh garlic and cayenne pepper and used cooked finely crumbled bacon, I will serve on Sunday for the Super Bowl, thanks for sharing MsSally
The texture of this dip is great. However, the sour cream dilutes the ranch dressing, so it doesn't have that wonderful ranch dressing taste as much as it should. I think next time I'll add a packet of dried ranch dressing or dip seasoning. I will make this again, but with the extra seasoning.
