Bacon Egg Spaghetti

My husband was born in Germany. This was a traditional meal that he has now passed on to our children. The kids love it (especially with ketchup for some strange reason).

Ah, this brings back memories... My PennDutch mother used to make this on rainy days. The perfect german comfort food. I made it tonight for my family and even my husband (who was skeptical at first) enjoyed it. I did add some grated cheese to the scrambled eggs to up the protein content a bit. I second the addition of maple syrup! Other toppings we used to use: stewed tomatoes, ketchup, hot sauce/salsa, parmesan cheese.

Ingredients Nutrition

  • 1 lb pasta (any pasta works, enough to feed 4-6 people)
  • 6 eggs
  • 12 lb turkey bacon
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt and pepper (or to taste)

Directions

  1. Cook noodles.
  2. Scramble eggs.
  3. Fry bacon.
  4. Mix the bacon, eggs and pasta all together.
  5. Brown butter and pour over mixture, mix.
  6. Add salt and pepper to liking.
