This recipe is being posted for a request. I have not made it myself, but it was given to me by a friend who has made it and says it is very good. It has always been a favorite at her parties.
- 1 box Club crackers
- 1 lb thin-sliced bacon
- Cut bacon strips into thirds.
- Break crackers along perforated lines.
- Around each cracker, wrap a strip of the bacon (around the width).
- Place on ungreased cookie sheets and bake in 200 degree F oven for 2 hours.
I had this at a progressive dinner. It was wonderful!!
I love bacon, and I love Club crackers, and I was certain that I would love these, but I just didn't. They were overly heavy with the bacon grease seeping into the cracker. I did add some Parmesan cheese on the crackers before wrapping (since I saw a similar recipe with that addition), and I liked the flavor it added. I also put these on a rack on top of the cookie sheet with the thought that the grease would drain off, but again, there was almost no drainage since the grease stayed in the cracker. I know that lots of folks do like this recipe, even if it wasn't quite my favorite, so I am glad you shared it.
A recipe that's been around a while. My friend's dh at the whole pan and made himself sick! Quick and easy appetizer to throw together in a snap! Did not take 2 hours in the oven!
