Bacon Cheesy Chicken (Crock Pot)

"I found this AMAZING recipe from the "crockpot lady" on her crockpot365 blogspot - also amazing. Anyway, this chicken is ridiculously easy and so versatile. It makes a mean sandwich, delicious wrap,is great served with french fries, or just straight up. You could also place it on a bed of lettuce for a great salad. The recipe helps keep they kitchen tidy and uses less energy by using a slow cooker! My whole family was "humming" when I made this and served it - it's a keeper!"

  1. I have had this in the crockpot for almost 3 hours.. The chicken isn't done which is expected but the cheese is already starting to burn.. I knew I should have waited till last minute but I assume when someone writes a recipe that it worked for them! I'm sure it will taste good the next time I do it.. My own way.. So dumb...

  2. SO TASTY! I was admittedly skeptical, as far as the ingredients go, but I KNEW I wanted cheesey, i KNEW i wanted chickeny, and i KNEW i wanted it in my crock. Who would guess teriyaki sauce and ranch dressing (not to mention cheddar cheese!) would meld together so melifluously?! I increased the measuremetns of both the dressing and the sauce (personal preference). I eyeballed the amount of cheese, and waited until the end to add it. Served over buttered garlicky rice, this was perfect, and delicious. Thank you!

  3. It was okay. Hubby and I love all these ingredients on they're own but put together it just didn't mesh for us and the bacon was a bit overpowering to us also. However, this will be a good recipe to play with and see if we can get it to suit our particular taste buds.

  4. Very good, I would definitely make this again. I didn't have terayaki sauce OR ranch dressing so had to make my own of each. Next time I would wait and add the cheese at the very end though, since it became rubbery as it cooked. Great sauce though!

  5. This was really good, and I'll say right away that we are definitely having it again. I WAS going to follow the recipe to the letter, until I found out that we didn't have teriyaki sauce. Then, we didn't have the stuff to make the teriyaki sauce substitution that I looked up online. -sigh- So, I bravely made my own up in the place of 1/4 c. teriyaki sauce: 3 Tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce, 1 Tablespoon lemon juice, and 2-3 teaspoons sugar, whisked together. It sounds weird, but it worked well in the end. I used 5 (5 oz.) chicken breasts and 11 slices of bacon. It came out excellent cooked on low for 7 hours. I served this with mashed potatoes and mixed veggies. Oh, I also looked up the crockpot365 blog, and it's awesome - I bookmarked it. Thanks so much, Rachie P!

I am a married stay at home mom (former teacher) with two little girls. I enjoy cooking but love baking even more! (My husband certainly doesn't complain!) All the girls in my family and I all enjoy exchanging recipes and trying them out on our families. Taste of Home and Betty Crocker were my original kitchen/recipe resources - now I am a Zaar-aholic! I love trying out new recipes and my family does too! It brings me great joy and is a personal goal of mine to be able to offer a meal or a treat to any guest that comes in my door.
