      I love your recipe tanz, it is just like my own recipe, although I use shallots, not onions. I break the yolk with a knife, but don't mix through, just before putting pastry top on. Thanks for posting, I will use this from now on and won't post my old one.

      Champion! My first ever pie & it was amazing!! I made this & decorated the top with extra pastry for my husbands birthday last night, I wish I had've taken a pic, it was so cool. Very quick & easy to put together. I brushed over an egg-wash before putting in the oven. Will definitely be making again, thanks for posting such a simple yet delicious recipe!

      Excellent recipe! 5 brilliant stars! Dutch bacon comes in packs of about 12 mega paper thin slices and I used three packs to make a very meaty large pie and an equally meaty small one at the same time for a dinner guest to take home with them. I used 6 eggs in the large pie and 3 in the small one and used 1.5 packets of the little dutch pastry squares that are standard in the Netherlands. Fussy DD, who even recently decided that pastry wasn't something that she was even willing to try, suddenly had a fit of culinary courage, tried it , loved it and devoured this. She even requested that I make it again, even the onions in it were eaten without drama... RESULT! I did add some frozen peas to the pie mix, for the rest the recipe is made as stated. Easy to make after a busy day and our dinner guest (who has never tried a bacon and egg pie before) was apprehensive at first but wiping second helpings off the plate very quickly indeed and super delighted with the surprise that the small pie was for them to take home. Success at every level. That earns 5 stars from me for sure. I served it with a simple side salad. A quick, easy and very tasty meal. Thanks!
