An easy and delicious comfort food from the Southern chapter of the United States Regional Cookbook, Culinary Arts Institute of Chicago, 1947. Cooking time approximate.
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons milk
- 1⁄2 teaspoon baking powder
- 3⁄4 lb cheese, grated
- 6 slices bread
- 6 slices bacon
- Beat egg; add milk, baking powder and cheese.
- Mix well and spread on bread slices.
- Place a strip of bacon on top; place under broiler and cook until golden brown.
this is very very easy and really good. doesn't take long either. I will be making this all the time for breakfast. thanks for the great recipe!
