    I received this recipe from a client of mine who also gave me apples from their trees here in Winnipeg. This is a nice light version of an apple cake which is great with ice cream or Cool Whip. I usually cut my apples into salty water to keep them from turning brown, but then I do not add salt to my batter.

    Directions:

      Mix sugar, margarine, egg and milk together.

      Combine dry ingredients and add to mixture.
    3. 3
      Beat well.
    4. 4
      Pour into greased and lightly floured 9"x9" cake pan.

      Spread apples closely together on top of batter.
    6. 6
      Mix margarine and brown sugar and dot over apples.
    7. 7
      Sprinkle with cinnamon.

      Bake at 350 deg.F for 30-35 minutes.
