Excellent recipe! Loved the chicken! For this recipe, I found I could only get 3-1/2 lbs. of chicken drumettes and wings in my baking pan. Except for the garlic powder which I forgot to add, and not adding the salt, I used all the ingredients needed to make this recipe. I did use a low sodium soy sauce that I purchased from Aldi's (which only had 660 mg of salt), so our chicken didn't taste salty at all. (If desired, you can purchase an even lower sodium soy sauce at Festival's Foods, Essetential Everyday Low Sodium Soy Sauce, which only has 580 mg, but I didn't have enough to make this recipe, so I opt to use the Aldi's brand, which worked fine.) At first I wasn't sure the chicken would crisp up as seeing it's swimming in a lot of liquid, and only baking for 10 minutes at 450º, but low and behold it did. I did want to mention, how fabulous our house smelled while the chicken was baking in the oven, and also several hours after we were done eating. I'm looking forward to making this recipe again, as it's so good. Thank you mandycakes for sharing this awesome recipe!!
Made exactly as given here and we really enjoyed the flavor and made just the perfect amount. Thanks for sharing!!!
These are very tasty and relatively easy to make, with no fuss. I used a low-sodium soy sauce, which was fine and did add the garlic powder. This made for some good Football grub! Thanks for sharing.
Awesome wings, we really enjoyed these sweet, salty sticky treats. They were quick and easy to make. I upped the red pepper flakes and brown sugar (personal preference only) and used a dark soya sauce. Made in a cookie sheet it worked great with this recipe. Thanks for sharing a recipe that I will make again.
I Honestly was disappointed in this recipe. I found it was entirely wayyyyy too salty.... i had to double the recipe for i had about 8 lbs of chicken... i would have to think the soy sauce killed it completely.... wasnt quite as sweet as i hoped it would be... i even used more brown sugar as u recommended... just didnt work for me thanks for sharing tho!
Great recipe. I upped the chilli flakes and as my oven's hot it needed 10 mins less cooking - the result was sticky sweet salty and spicy ribs - just perfect. Will repeat for sure!
These are really great, a little messy, sticky, salty, spicy, and just generally good. We have a couple of other recipes for sticky wings and these will be added to the list. We did cut the hot sauce and pepper flakes in half because one of us can't take the heat. Made for Pick A Chef.
The sauce is sticky, sweet, slightly spicy, and was a hit for us. I lined the pan with foil for easier cleanup and elected to baste the chicken drumettes frequently instead of adding all of the sauce at once. They came out beautifully glazed. I was confused though on the 2 tablespoons olives ingredient so omitted it. Made for Spring 2010 pick A Chef.
You have a wonderful recipe here. I made them last night for the family and my husband asked me to put them in our rotation. I followed your recipe except I didn't add the additional garlic powder. I must say they were extremely yummy! I loved the stickiness and heat was just right for us. Thanks!
