I also flatten the rolls a bit, added grated cheese, bacon and a drizzle of olive oil for delicious cheese and bacon rolls just like the bread shop!!

my family LOVES this bread and could eat a whole loaf in one sitting. I made some changes i used butter and not shortening and the sugar i used 2T honey, 2 tsp. salt. i used bread flour and put 1 tsp. of vinegar to help with the rising the vinegar will not change the flavor. Yes this is a Awesome bread =)

This is such a great and easy recipe! We've made it 3 times in one day! In our last version, we added a 1/2 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips. It ended up melting into the bread, made it look like wheat bread, but tastes like chocolate! We were hoping for chocolate chip bread, but it still came out yummy. We toasted the bread and had it with cocoa this morning! I think we will use this as a base and see what we could add to it. THANKS to whomever created this recipe its perfect!

I followed the directions exactly and it was horrible. the bread fell and tasted like salt.

Wonderful. Many white bread recipes I've tried turn out very dense. This was light and soft and so good.

I really liked this bread. It felt like store bought but the flavor was so much better. Also, I really like that I already had/could pronounce all the ingredients, not like the store bought, gummed up, enriched with this or that sulfate variety. The only change I made was to substitute real butter for the shortening.

I made this today, 12/16/12 for the " Let's P-A-R-T-Y 2011 " Event. I let my bread machine do the hard work,( dough cycle ) formed into a loaf shape and placed it in a greased loaf pan.Then covered, and left to rise in a warm place for 1 hour. The loaf was baked at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. I forgot it was supposed to be a crusty loaf, and buttered the loaf as soon as it came out of the oven.And I couldn't wait for it cool off, so I cut off a small slice and buttered it. Then bit into sheer delight. The bread tastes just wonderful and thank you so much for posting. " Keep Smiling :) "

The recipe didn't specific what kind of flour, so I used just white flour (not bread flour) and it failed!!!! So is everyone using bread flour on this recipe since it got glowing reviews? Please help.

Seriously good bread! I only wish it lasted longer than a day in my household! It sort of has a french bread taste to it. But since it's so simple to make, it's no problem to make all the time!
