This soup is easy. I just throw it in the slow cooker. It's so tasty!
- 3 1⁄2 cups peeled and diced potatoes
- 1⁄3 cup diced celery
- 1⁄3 cup onion flakes
- 1 cup diced cooked ham
- 1 cup frozen green pea
- 3 1⁄4 cups water
- 2 tablespoons chicken bouillon granules
- 1⁄2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 5 tablespoons butter
- 5 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- Throw meat and veggies in slow cooker. Add everything else. Stir well. Cook on low for 6 hrs until potatoes are soft. Enjoy!
This turned out so good and it was crazy easy to put together. Fix, forget and enjoy. Real comfort food for us. I added a can of chicken broth, 1 T of bullion and only used3T of butter. Next time I'll add the peas closer to the end of cooking so they stay nice and bright. Thanks for sharing the recipe, I'll be making this again.
This soup was awesome!!!! I used a leftover spiral cut ham, a whole chopped onion, 1 chopped garlic clove, and used chicken broth in place of water and an extra cup of it, then just a cup of half and half (since it was in my fridge and needed to be used up). I also threw in a tablespoon of caraway seeds (ham on rye theme) and man oh man. the garlic and caraway added a really nice subtle flavor to this soup. so good! we will be making this again! I will probably make some without the dairy to freeze, and then just add the dairy when we reheat it
This was great. It is appropriately named "Awesome Ham, Pea and Potato Soup!" This was really super simple and tasted great.
