"This is a easy and a kid friendly avocado dip. I guessed at the time it takes to make this. I figured about 10 minutes for the everything. Makes about 1 cup."

  • Puree the avocado in a blender or food processor with the sour cream, mayonnaise, lemon juice, garlic, salt and pepper.
  • Place in serving bowl.
  • This is a tip I found for keeping the dip from darkening.
  • Spread a layer of sour cream over the top of the avocado dip and seal it to the sides of the serving dish.

  1. I was looking for an avocado dip that my 3 year old daughter would like, so when I found this I was thrilled. I made the recipe as is, but also added 1/2 cup of great northern beans to up the nutritional content. It turned out smooth and creamy. She loved it and so did I (can't even tell I added beans)! This is a keeper!!

  2. I really didn't think this had a lot of wow flavor, but it was still good and simple to put together.

  3. Yummy DD (toddler) liked this as well. I used Balkan (thick) yogurt instead of sour cream to be corn free, Hellman's olive oil mayonnaise to be soy free, freshly squeezed lemon juice, sea salt, I didn't have pepper so I added some garlic salt as well and also felt it would be good with something chunky and wanted to increase the quantity so I added a small chopped tomato. We ate this with rice crackers.

  4. This is very good. It is easy to make. I followed ingredients per recipe. I don't have a food processor so I just mashed up ingredients. Made for Beverage Tag.

  5. Great! My dip was much greener than the pictured dip and my kids are kind of hard to fool. So, I called this "green booger dip" because if it sounds gross, its cool, and they ate it up! I served this as a dipping sauce with chicken quesadillas and the kids and hubby loved it. Normally, I would make guacamole, but the kids won't touch it, so this recipe was fantastic because they loved it too. I did add some cumin, worcestshire, and a splash of sherry vinegar to punch it up a little bit. It was too thick for my blender to effectively blend on its own, so I had to stop to stir it several times, but other than that it was super easy and definite keeper! Thanks!

  1. Great avocado dip. Very easy to make. I used lime juice instead of lemon juice. I garnished with chopped tomatoes and cilantro and we dipped tortilla chips. I'll make this again; thanx!
