This recipe is a variation on a recipe I found on avocado.org. All of the ingredients are fresh which makes for a great authentic guacamole. Plus, avocado.org also taught me that avocados are great for regulating blood sugar and cholesterol! As if we need an excuse to eat guacamole...
- 4 ripe avocados
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 diced garlic clove
- 1⁄2 cup diced cilantro
- 1⁄2 cup chopped green onion
- 1⁄2 teaspoon cumin
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- Cut avocados into halves.
- Pit and peel the avocado halves.
- Combine avocados and remaining ingredients in medium-large bowl.
- With a fork, mash avocados and mix in ingredients to desired consistency.
This was a big hit with my family of guac lovers. Thank you for a great recipe. Made for I recommend.
VERY GOOD we loved it. We love to hav e ours chuncky. When I have leftover Guacamole I put one of the pits in the center of the dip and it stays fresh longer. Thanks for a great recipe. Made for Fall PAC 2009.
Made this to use with another chef's Orange Pork Carnitas, & although I'm not a big fan of this green stuff, it really is good (I have my other half & 2 guest to vouch for it, so . . .)! I think I'll keep this recipe on hand ~ Thanks for sharing! [Tagged, made & reviewed for one of my adoptees in the current Pick A Chef]
