wow this IS very very good, at first i was worried from a comment that i read that it wasn't gonna turn out right but it's EASY to make and even EASIER to eat lol... my kids LOVED it. If you follow EXACTLY what the recipe says to do u shouldn't have any problems! Thank you 4 this recipe
I would cook the cake a bit longer before putting the topping on. It mostly sank to the bottom. Otherwise not bad. Very sweet (I'd add less sugar next time). But moist, good flavor. Just the issue with the topping. It kind of has to be eaten with a spoon like a pudding, can't really be picked up, but it's worth it.
DELICIOUS! We loved this cake ~ simple flavor that really pops with the topping. I used Splenda in the cake portion and brown sugar in the topping portion. DH was especially appreciative :) Thanks for posting Hokies ~ made for ZWT6 ~ NA*ME Region and the Queens of Quisine!
Wow, this is so good. The cake is kind of dense, like a pound cake kind of texture, and the topping sort of caramelizes on it, with the almonds getting candied. It's very rich, and I just loved it.
This was good. For me it was overly sweet. When the directions say pour the topping gently it means it. The topping all went to the middle of the cake. I would add less sugar next time. Thanks for posting.
Made this for the Let's Go to Saudi Arabia game and loved it. It had that honey-almond flavor I remember so well from when we lived in Saudi, very sweet and diffently NOT low calorie but oh so good. In addition it's so easy to make, I followed the directions exactly (though I think #8 might be a duplicate step) and had no problems at all. It did cook faster in my stove - only 10 minutes until it was ready for the topping, but that was all. I know I'll be using this one again and again.
Beautiful cake, love the flavour!
