Made by the pitcher full, you'll need that much once your family tries it. Most of the prep time is chill time.
- Advance preparation: Combine hot tea, apricot nectar, orange juice, sugar, and lemon juice.
- Chill tea-apricot mixture thoroughly in large pitcher.
- When chilled carefully pour in ginger ale.
- Serve over ice cubes.
A nice and satisfying refreshment! It is sweet, smooth and apricot-tasting and is more satisfying than watery soft drink. The use of ginger ale for the fizz is great because the ale itself is exceedingly fizzy but is just perfect for the syrupy apricot mixture. It's important to follow the recipe to a T; both liquids must be well chilled in order to retain the ale's valuable fizz! My advice is to use some good, strong-flavoured tea (I used light green tea and it was sorta lost in the other flavours....) and you can use diet ginger ale to make the drink healthier (you don't notice the sweetener since normal sugar is also added).
Ohhh so good Anna. This is a wonderful Apricot Iced tea. It certainly delighted me. The flavor is excellant. The tea is smooth, silky, fruity, sweet, tart, tangy, fizzy and oh so wonderful. A large pitcher was not enough. Thank you so much for sharing this lovely iced treat.
