  1. Had this roast for our 'Sunday' roast dinner yesterday, delicious, the applesauce mixture gave it a lovely sweet topping. Took a little longer to cook than suggested but was worth it.

  2. This was very good and everyone is the family liked it. My husband did say the cloves were a little too strong, but since it did not list cloves in the ingredients list, only in the instructions, I had to guess at the amount. I used about 1/4 tsp. Also...I forgot to add the flour to the rub! Didn't seem to make a difference though. I did think it was a bit strange to have "prepared" mustard in a rub instead of mustard powder, but it worked out anyway. I used 2 - 2 lb. pork loins, so mine was done in less time. The sauce was thick, so I did not have to do anything to make a gravy...it was more like a glaze. This is a different way to make pork loin, which is usually kind of boring :)

  3. Three sime words. De. Lic. Ious. This is a delicious recipe - it tastes like Fall if Fall had a taste. Followed the recipe & ingredients. I cut everything in half as I was cooking thin cut boneless pork chops tonight instead of a full pork loin. ('Cept skipped the gravy). I think the sauce is very good! Great mixture of flavors. Everyone at the table loved it. I think I shall use this on a pork loin for Thanksgiving. Thank you-!

  4. We really enjoyed the pork prepared this way. I used a tart homemade applesauce that I made awhile ago, other than that, made exactly as written. The mustard rub was a nice surprise. The pork was lovely, just the right amount of spice, it was perfectly cooked; nice and tender with a delicious applesauce glaze. We really enjoyed the ground cloves in this dish. Thanks for sharing, made for Name That Ingredient Tag Game.

  5. I made this for dinner last week and it was wonderful. I used a pork tip roast instead of the loin roast. I also left out the clove, because I didnt have any. Only problem I found was that the mustard rub didnt spread too well for me so i just added a little water. Came out very moist and flavorful. Thanks for sharing

  2. So tasty! I read the other reviews about problems with the rub mixture, so I spread the mustard on the meat first, then rolled it in the flour & spices mixture. I also substituted 1 teaspoon of molasses & 1 teaspoon of agave syrup for the brown sugar, for health reasons. I used cider vinegar and Dijon mustard. Also added just a little dried rosemary, thyme & paprika to the rub. Didn't make gravy, just used applesauce mixture as a glaze. Delicious & different, thanks for posting!

  3. Quite an easy recipe and very yummy! Made this for New Years Eve and my husband was in love. I might try allspice or nutmeg instead of pure cloves next time to see how it is, but otherwise wouldn't change anything.

  4. I find pork loin roasts boring and made this recipe. It was tender and tasted good. I only used 2 lb. of pork loin and sliced up 3 garlic cloves, not 1 as an experiment. It was a bit too much garlic if you don't want to stink. I used 2 cups of homemade applesauce instead of 1 which gave me lots of stuff for the rice and carrots I served it with.
