Applesauce Meatloaf

Tasty version of meatloaf.

  1. Combine meat ingredients well.
  2. Shape into a round loaf in 8x8x2 pan.
  3. Made a crater or well in center of meat loaf.
  4. Mix the sauce ingredients- pour into depression.
  5. Bake at 350 for 1 hour.

My entire family enjoyed this, but it was slightly too sweet. I think next time I try this, I may decrease the brown sugar to 1 tsp. It would also help to use unsweetened applesauce. I would also say that this would serve 6-8 instead of 4-5.

I had some applesauce that I needed to use up so I followed recipe exactly, except that I didn't have any Dijon mustard, so I used a spicy brown mustard instead. It was very pretty and different, not really like a meat loaf at all. One DD and I LOVED this it! The other DD and DH liked it, but said they preferred the less fruity traditional meatloaf.

This was a really tasty meatloaf and very easy to make. I'm not a real meatloaf fan but this was exceptionally tasty and left a wonderful flavor in your mouth. My husband on the other hand is a big meatloaf lover and I had to remove it from the table in order to make sure there was any left for sandwiches. Thanks for sharing a new and tasty treat
