  1. When I makes this I do not use the 1 1/2 cups cold water - I use the 2 cups boiling water as called for on the Jell-O package and then use the 2 cups applesauce in place of the cold water - this results in a firmer set and a bit more flavor (because the Jell-O isn't "watered down" by both the water and the applesauce). We really like it at our house; one of our kids' favorites. Simple to prepare, good for dessert after supper or as an after-school or bedtime snack!

  2. I used to make this when my children were young, but I always beat it up and it was frothy and tasty and it had a nice texture. I've forgotten just what the measurements were, but it was fun!

  3. A fun dessert that my office raved over. I followed all directions as given except I used strawberry flavored jello. I only wish the jello would hold it's firmness longer. This is a keeper. Thank you for sharing. I followed CJSchmitt's suggestions. It firmed up the mold perfectly. I no longer have the 'melting' problem : D Just tried it with a small can of fruit cocktail (drained)...turned out pretty well. Will try fresh fruits next time! Thanks again!
